Modern science has not been able to synthetically manufacture the Polysaccharides in Aloe Vera. They are unique to the Aloe Vera plant and provide the basis for many of the outstanding results to the body both internally and externally.

ALOE VERA HAS A LONG HISTORY

The original reference to Aloe being used as a medication dates back to prescriptions from Sumarian physicians found on clay tablets which are dated back to 2100 BC, before the Christian era.

Historically, the Ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Chinese used this plant prolifically to cure such ailments as burns to the skin, eczemas, indigestion, diseases of the stomach and bowel and was used both internally and externally.

1. MOISTURISATION & COHESION

Most of the moisture in the skin comes from the deep inner dermis layers and goes out to the exterior through the skin. If you could create a barrier of some sort and lessen the amount of water which is leaving, then your skin would remain moist for a longer period of time. The polysaccharides in Aloe create this moisture barrier in the skin.

2. PENETRATION AND ABSORPTION

In independent laboratory studies it is proven that by using Aloe in a product instead of water you achieve 3 times the penetration and absorption. Grace Cosmetics understands this, meticulously combining other proven natural and botanical nutrients into its formulations for the best results on your skin. 3. ANTI-INFLAMMATORY

Testing has proven the reduction of pain, swelling and redness associated with sprains and strains, as well as acne and a variety of other skin blemishes.

4. PROTECTION FROM UV RAYS STRENGTHENING OF THE SKIN’S IMMUNE FUNCTION

When the skin sustains sunburn, the immune cells in your skin are completely destroyed. A study completed at the M.D. Anderson Clinic at the Medical Centre in Houston looked at the presence of ultraviolet exposure on the surfaceof the skin. They found, when the Aloe Gel was applied to the surface of the skin prior to testing, the immune cells were protected, providing full immune function.

Also, ageing spots – produced by the chemical, melanin, are reduced with the application of Aloe. These ageing spots are stimulated over time by a complicated chemical procedure in the body and other external forces eg. Sunlight. Aloe Vera however, provides the skin with constant rejuvenation and reverses this process helping the skin at cellular level to produce younger, softer skin.

5. ANTI-AGEING PROPERTIES

Collagen is the skin’s basic support structure that keeps it firm and supple. Collagen is synthesised by fibroblasts deep in the heart of the skin’s nourishing centre – the dermis.

When we age, the collagen production in the skin slows down – eventually ceasing. Inevitably, with age and a depletion of collagen, the epidermis becomes wrinkled, crevassed and thin. Many other cosmetic and skin care products, though promising anti-ageing results, did little more than just hydrate the skin for brief periods. The production of Collagen was not stimulated, so facial lines and the evidence of ageing remained the same.

However, when Aloe is used on the surface of the skin, its penetration deep into the skin will stimulate the skin’s fibroblasts to produce collagen and reverse the visible signs of ageing.
